SIMPLE JUST GOT BETTER - Chain Tensioner Expert
The Colab Expert Chain tensioner is the newest addition to our Singlespeed
drivetrain family. Providing a highly secure, robust and easily adjustable system
of tensioning the chain, designed for freeride / DH level use on full-suspension
mountain bikes.
The Expert boasts 15mm of adjustability of the chainline and an adjustable limit
stopper, plus a pinch bolt on the mounting bracket and a higher spring tension to keep
your chain tight, cutting out chain slap even on the gnarliest of landings.
The Expert gives you a quieter, reliable and adjustable single speed setup.
Paired up with our new Expert Singlespeed kits with Sprocket Guides, which act
like a chain guide for the rear cog - the chain isn't going anywhere.
Sandwiched between two CNC machined aluminum guide plates, with a refined
tooth design, your rear sprocket and chain interface is locked in place rock solid,
no matter how rough it gets or how hard you're cranking into that 50 footer.
Key Points
-Anti-Slip washer creates traction and prevents your tensioner from slipping under vibration (between the interface of the bolt and tensioner)
-Adjustable limit stopper - the new oversized stopper will keep your tensioner in place and functioning even under bottom-outs. This also sets your positioning with the help of the placement screw and prevents movement under harsh conditions hits.
-PlacementScrew- tensioner comes with a bolt to easily set your tensioner in the optimal position, and allows for removal and re-attachment without losing positioning.
-Locking bracket- adjusts chainline as well as positioning and is oversized for durability
-Increased spring tension- holds the tensioner tighter, reduces slap and reduces the chances of slipping a chain
- Chainline adjustment possible with a single bolt providing 15 mm of lateral adjustment for the perfect chainline.

Recommended singlespeed tensioner tension:
REVERSE COLAB/ SB1 CT - medium load (Dirt, Street, Pumptrack)
SB1 BONER - high load (Bikepark, FreeRide, Gravity)
SB1 G3C - extreme load (Freeride, Rampage, LooseRiders)
SB ONE and REVERSE tensioners are attached in the classic way like shifters and are combined with Singlespeed kits for 9/10/11/12 speed chains (one sprocket and washers), which replace the classic cassette.
Such a solution can save up to 500g of the total weight of the bike!
A very popular gravity solution for riders riding Red Bull Rampage, LooseFest , SlopeStyle , etc.
Ideal for bike park riders where classic gears are used at least.
Also suitable for pumptrack, slopestyle and dirt bikes with classic dropouts (not horizontal)
Recommendation:
The manufacturer recommends using a sprocket (e.g. AbsoluteBlack, REVERSE COMPONENTS,...) designed for 9-11 speed chains ( width 11/128" ). *seller's note: a sprocket from a detachable cassette may also work (be careful of the chain falling!).
It does not recommend sprockets for 6-8 speed chains ( 3/32" width ) and singlespeed chains (1/8" width) .
