Industry Nine HYDRA Classic hubs are the heart of your wheels, everything revolves around them. Every I9 Classic hub is built from start to finish in our Asheville, NC, USA machine shop. From turning and milling 7075-T6 aluminum to make the body, axles and bushings, to wire-cutting A2 tool steel for the pawls and guides, to our in-house anodizing lab, every step of the design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly process is done right on site to our exacting standards.

Hydra Classic MTB hubs are packed with features that every rider will appreciate, such as the revolutionary 0.52° / 690POE engagement point, generously low weight and an intuitive layout that can be serviced without any custom tools. Our range boasts a range of standard options when it comes to axle mounting, spoke holes, disc rotor mounting, freewheel bodies and colors.

The Industry Nine Hydra has a very fine nut mechanism that features six pawls, each pawl having two opposing teeth. This results in a minimum engagement angle of 0.52 degrees per click, for a total of 690 clicks over a 360-degree range. Super smooth operation and a unique sound.
