KMC's analyses of power transmission on mid-drive e-bikes have shown that standard chains are not able to withstand these forces in the long term. The critical point is the rivets that connect all parts of the chain. The rivets are subjected to the greatest stress, especially during gear changes. That is why KMC has developed a new rivet and riveting technology that has become the standard and is used for all KMC chains designed for e-bikes.
